Dr. Siniša D. Grozdanić
Staff Ophthalmologist
A Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists, Dr. Grozdanić combines advanced clinical care with an active research program. He earned his veterinary degree at the University of Belgrade (1998), a Ph.D. in neuroscience (2002), and completed his clinical veterinary ophthalmology residency at Iowa State University (2007), where he later served as assistant professor and staff ophthalmologist. He was the first veterinary ophthalmologist in North America to perform artificial corneal transplants in veterinary patients, and consults for U.S. Department of Defense and Secret Service canine units.

Nikki
Registered Veterinary Technician, Technician Supervisor
Nikki graduated from the Kirkwood Community College veterinary technician program in 2012 and has been part of the Animal Eye Consultants of Iowa team since 2015. She previously spent three years in emergency and critical care at Blue Pearl and continues ER relief work. Her professional interests include biology and clinical pathology. Outside the clinic she cares for four cats — Gigi, Fidget, Bandit, and Smokey — is semi-fluent in Japanese, and enjoys sewing and art projects.
Sarah
Registered Veterinary Technician
Sarah joined the team in fall 2022 after twelve years in general practice. She completed the Kirkwood veterinary assistant program in 2010 and returned to earn her veterinary technician degree in 2019. She lives with her husband Kevin and their two sons, Maxwell and Logan, along with a husky mix named Whiskey and cats Dexter and Artie. She enjoys crafting, Broadway musicals, and Green Bay Packers games.
Marisa
Veterinary Technician
Marisa earned a B.S. in Biology from Coe College in 2018 and joined Animal Eye Consultants of Iowa in March 2022. She brings three years of emergency field experience from the Emergency Veterinary Service of Iowa City and aspires to a career in veterinary medicine. At home she keeps a busy household with her dog Eevee, cats Panda and Puddin, and a Solomon Island Eclectus parrot named Meliodas.
