VetPort Client/Staff Login
Referring veterinarians and clients can follow their patients through VetPort — exam findings, diagnostic results, and treatment plans are shared back after each visit. Log in below; if your clinic does not yet have portal access, contact us and we will set up an account for your practice.
Referral Information
Referring a patient is straightforward: complete the fillable referral form and submit it in advance of the appointment, along with the patient's history and current medications. A referral is not required for eye screening exams or CERF examinations.
- Complete the referral form below and send it to us before the appointment.
- Include relevant medical history and a current medication list.
- For urgent cases, we make every effort to accommodate emergency referrals promptly — most ocular emergencies are stabilized medically before next-day surgery when needed.
Free Clinical Consultation
Dr. Grozdanić has provided free consulting to more than 80 veterinary ophthalmologists across six continents on over 300 complex cases, and consults for U.S. Department of Defense and Secret Service canine units. For difficult ophthalmic cases, he is available to consult with veterinarians and emergency services in person, by phone, or by email.

Diagnostic Support
Referred patients have access to advanced ophthalmic diagnostics rarely available outside specialty practice — ocular ultrasound, CT imaging, ocular microbiology, histopathology, and an on-site pharmacy and laboratory. Detailed findings are reported back to your practice with every case.
Research Collaboration
Our active research program focuses on early detection and treatment of retinal and optic nerve disease. Referring veterinarians can enroll suitable patients in ongoing studies, including the Early Retina Disease Screening study.

Ocular Microbiology Laboratory
Animal Eye Consultants of Iowa operates the first veterinary laboratory in the USA dedicated exclusively to ocular microbiology, with bacterial culture growth rates well above those reported in veterinary literature and CLSI-guided antibiotic susceptibility panels. The service is available to referring veterinarians.
